AVEVA recently became a member of the Australian Steel Institute (ASI) The ASI is a body which works with the government, the media and other associations to provide a clear voice for those that work in the steel industry. Having one of the most dynamic and innovative steel sectors in the world, the ASI works hard to ensure that industry knowledge is visible, accessible and shareable amongst its members and others in the steel industry to whom it may affect.
Becoming a member of ASI has given us a platform to increase our presence in the Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) market and to introduce the fabricator division of AVEVA, where AVEVA Bocad is present. “Membership offers us the opportunity to gain future trends and technology in the industry which we can share with our customers,” comments Robert Lamb, Account Manager, Australasia at AVEVA.
For AVEVA customers, this relationship not only means that they are assured to be kept up to date with industry knowledge, but they also have additional opportunities to meet and speak to us at various events that the ASI host throughout the year and this in turn opens up the door to them to network with others in the industry.
At AVEVA we are aware that building strong relationships is key component for the growth and development of our business. Joining ASI has given us the chance to build our relationship with them and with our customers; we are dedicated and committed to keeping this relationship valuable. We showed our commitment earlier this year, by sponsoring the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Award at the ASI Steel Excellence awards held in Brisbane, Australia. The ASI Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Award philosophy complements AVEVA’s Integrated Engineering & Design.

The convention delivered an impressive line-up of business and industry leaders speakers and provided a great opportunity for those in the steel industry to come together to see the latest industry technology. It also gave attendees the chance to network and discuss key topics with experts in the steel industry.
AVEVA were also invited to attend an Australian Institute of Steel Detailers (AISD) meeting, where key issues facing the industry were discussed. Topics included - improvements to work flow and future requirements. AVEVA took a leading role in the discussions as they strongly link to AVEVA’s concept of Integrated Engineering and Design to improve workflow and their vision for the future.
